I think this song is about a guy who is in love with his best (female) friend.
He knows stuff about her that nobody else knows ("wear that dress to hide those scars that only I have seen"). But she's in love with someone else, but this guy doesn't love her back either, and is oblivious ("did you know that everything she ever does is for you?")
Eventually, the singer gets with this girl, but she really can't make herself fall in love with him ("you justified all the things you did, you said it's all for me").
