I think the line, "you begin your attack and it means:" is actually, "you begin your attack, and it reads:", which makes more sense in reference to the letter.
Also, I think the line, "There's nicer shores in sight," above is actually, "business and chores and such". It makes more sense, in terms of the things that might be holding up the other party (400 days have passed, since I heard from you last...).
I could be wrong, but those lines seem to make a lot more sense than the ones posted, and I listen on my headphones a lot :)
