i think this could be about a couple to be? like some guy is trying to get with this girl and he is a bit of a "jack the lad" and "talks a good game" and this girl is into him and he is leading her on? and he finally realises he feels for her too and the realisation of it all is when "these strange explosions hit me like a fist of light" and he has missed his chance with this girl "do you believe that i care?
yes i kinda get that 2. that there was a lot of confusion and strong emotion both good and bad. obviously he does care - but that still doesnt mean he plays a fair game. I wonder why the explosive anger. That's soemthing that is not explained in the song
