This song to me is very well put... I infact can relate.. its obviouse he's upset about a companion most likely a girlfriend. She's wrong because she probably messed up in some way or another "cheating" . They probably were going to try and make it work and he realized it wasn't going to so he made it clear they need to stop. She on the other hand still believed and wanted to try but its was completely pointless...He forced them to move on sucks but she messed up.
