A Tout le Monde (Set Me Free) Lyrics

On Feb. '93 Megadeth was booked to play the Budokan Arena in Tokyo, Japan. A few days before leaving for Japan, they played a show in Eugene, Oregon. During that concert Mustaine was a disaster, at the time he was still struggling with addiction and alcoholism. And to make matters worse, the barricades at the front of the stage suddenly broke and the fans rushed the stage and started a riot. Mustaine and the rest of the band left the venue but shortly after, Mustaine collapsed from the alcohol and drugs in his body.He was rushed to a hospital, but upon arriving at the emergency room Mustaine died. Dave WAS resuscitated at the hospital. After that, he was sent to a rehab center to get over his addiction. That's how he got the inspiration to write this amazing song. Dave wanted people to know loved them in case he doesnt have a chance to say it then he dies:

"What it is, it's, you, it's when people have a loved one that dies and they end on a bad note, you know, they wish that they could say something to them. So this is an opportunity for the deceased to say something before they go. And it was my impression of what I would like to say to people, if I had say, 3 seconds to do so in life before I died I'd say to the entire world, to all my friends, I love you all, and now I must go. These are the last words I'll ever speak, and they'll set me free. I don't have to say I'm sorry, I don't have to say I'm going to miss you, or I'll wait for ya. You know, I'll just say I loved you all, good, bad, indifferent, I loved you all."
