seems to me this is about some kind of ravenous depature, "grab my heart before I'm gone". still, the song keeps relating to this person's past, "just try to feed my past". the lyrics are rally confusing, there may be a few pieces that's been held left from this person's pastlife, and are needed to be present, if not he'll be dismissively gone. and to me "gone" sounds like death, that he's suicidal.
