IMO I'd have to agree that it's about parents because at the end he says "I like you anyway" and kids always say they hate their parents but in reality they still like them. Also the title is pretty much the nail in the coffin because when you square root a number say 9 you get 3 and 3x3 is 9 and there are two numbers for the answer(two parents) and one square root (the kid). Yeah a surprisingly deep title...
