Like someone who's got nothing for him and a retreat that doesn't turn out how you want, there is disappointment, but the character of the song does not feel so disappointed. He seems less than surprised. In the second verse he has let go, sailing on the winds of life, accepting that answers aren't worth the questioning. There is a peacefulness in letting go of disappointment, of the search for answers. This is the great escape. Traveling and wandering through gardens can't bring you this type of peace.
