I think this song is about how we have given control of our lives to people who are only out for their own interests. To corporations, politicians, men in suits who only care about increasing the money inside their own pockets. At least that is what I read into it.
I know many who believe in the Christian message the band has spread thus far will hate me for saying this but I think it's awesome to see the band moving toward a realistic direction, not focusing on the illusion of God being able to change our lives but instead realizing how bad of a state we're in as a species and calling for a change.
I don't know... A lot of the song is a plea for God's help fixing a world that has clearly fallen into a broken state, but also a call for action as it's our own fault that we have wound up where we are.

I'm glad this song can be seen and respected from a realist and a spiritual side, but I feel like it shouldn't been seen from either one separately. God acts in a real world and the two ideas coincide in this song in particular. You're right Josh and you're also right dking and valor. This is song has a powerful flow as well as a fricking lyrical mind explosion!
