First of all, this song is f-ing amazing, and definitely my favorite song of the album.

Moving on, I also saw this song as a rejection of a higher power, as the world of the living is commonly seen in Christianity as a "waiting room" of sorts where people wait to die to get into Heaven. But this song (as seen by the lines "There is nothing above, there is nothing below/Heaven and Hell lives in all of us") is spreading the notion that they're, for lack of a better phrase, waiting for nothing.

Instead...
Instead of cruising through life with the belief that "when I die, I'll go to Heaven and everything will make sense", this song is a call for people to get off their asses and start making the world we live in now the Heaven we're waiting to die for.
I doubt its about a denial of divine powers. In my opinion, this song can be related to Chelsea Smile. Chelsea Smile in my opinion was a song about straying away from God, but in the end going back to God since there isn't much to life as it as an illusion. That can also be related to "There is a hell believe me I've seen it. There is a heaven lets keep it a secret.". I think it means that heaven and hell lies within us, and to find either of them, we must look deep inside. My mom...

Hence I can relate to the "Pray for the dead". Meaning that their time has ended and that they don't have a chance to repent or save themselves, sort of prophet like in my opinion. "I am an ocean. I am the sea. There is a world inside of me". I love this part because it gives the expression that life is not what most people believe in. Like studying hard in school, getting a good job, and all of those popular beliefs.
Well this was a bit of a crappy interpretation. But this is just my perception. My own opinion. Would loved to see Oli himself explain the meaning of this beautiful song.
This song sounds to me like a denial of divine powers.
"There is nothing above, there is nothing below Heaven and Hell lives in all of us"
This seems like he is saying that humans decide themseves if they are evil and not a higher power.
Now it is true that i am an active atheist so i may just hear what i want to hear but this is my take on the song.

I am also an active atheist, btw.
