Yes, it could be a reference to 9/11, and he could still be inspired by the whole imagery about it, but this takes place in a apocalyptic world in 2019. Apparently the first verse follows a battle between the Killjoys and the Dracs, if I had to guess right.
I wasn't saying 9/11 was the only thing it's about, but I'm saying it's interesting how their new apocalyptic world is so similar to the things that he's witnessed. I was just saying that's the image that I relate to hearing the words, and the fact that that parallels their "vision", if you will, of this future, is really intriguing... and also really sad.

The band has actually stated that this album is not really a concept album like The Black Parade. NaNaNa is the only song that really touches the story line, the rest are actually political statements. Even Save Yourself, I'll Hold Them Back is about Gerard's daughter.
