I believe that this song is about a person who meets someone while on the road or traveling, but is forced to leave them because she has to go back to California (or LA). Who knows, maybe Greta fell in love with someone while touring :)? Haha. But yes, this is what I think. And the person is just waiting for the moment when they're both reunited, most likely in LA.
