I think this song is about learning to accept that life doesn't always go the way you think it should, and you don't always get what you deserve. And if you're going through something difficult in your life, most people just want someone to help them, or someone to save them. I think that the person in this song wants the opposite of that, they want to deal with it on their own. Like some people say that they'd rather feel pain than feel nothing, the narrator decided that it's better to deal with their problems on their own, even if they end up breaking. That's just my thoughts, either way it's an extremely well writen song and really makes you think, but then again thats how all of Brent Smith's songs are for me
