My first guess was that this could be about abortion, or at least a child in a mother's womb about to be aborted, the child wishes it could breathe and be outside in the world and actually have the CHANCE to hide from the needle of abortion. It's blood is drained from it's body and it faints, most likely never to be alive again. It says "I know your face, your hands" most likely because it inherited the hands from his/her mother and father.
But I also guess that it could be a ghost wishing it wasn't dead and back in it's human form. "Fear we would meet here in the misty outside" possible nthe spirit world.
