it's saying just because you might think you're not special don't give up & just fallow the crowd. it sounds like it describes teenage depression. that feeling like if if you just do what all the cool kids are doing (drinking doing crazy things what ever) maybe they'll except you. despite that even a lot of kids still feel left out & looked over. it's just saying don't don't sell yourself short for those people just because you're life isn't what you want it to be right now. go your own path & don't look back.
