I like this song, but it rather depresses me, because it leaves you alone with the impression of having no option in life. This guy gives up all his hope and kills himself in the end. But I think there is one line in this song, that needs to be explained:

I ask myself, what freedom is meant to be here?
I think either something happened to him or he did something that was so traumatic that it scarred his brain to where the reality of improving his situation was futile by the damaging thoughts of suicide and a system constructed to an even slower oppression of suicide from a criminal justice system standpoint.
