I also think it could be about an ex lover named Jane, who possibly moved away or broke up with him and wouldn't want to have anything to do with him (which often happens after a relationship has died).
This song definitely reminds me of that time my ex broke up with me. It's a sad sickening feeling, all you do is just reflect on that person... it's sad.
