This song has an anti-hippie message. The Island of Goa is like, "hippie Mecca" and the singer is not down with a lot of spiritual mumbo-jumbo. It seems to be a little anti-drug, but I think A3 is just more about modern things, and thus synthetic drugs instead of cannabis.

Basically, Larry Love was attached to "new age" spiritual stuff, but now he's joined the First Presleyterian Church of Elvis the Divine (UK) under The Very Reverend Dr. D. Wayne Love.

That whole process is about stripping yourself of belongings, and rebuilding yourself in a world of country/acid house/gospel/blues revelry. Live music and whiskey replace Carlos Castaneda and chakras.
