Why does every song by the Pet Shop Boys have to be about being gay and having AIDS?! This isn't! They admitted themselves that they mainly write songs about heterosexual relationships ! Anyway, this is my second favourite track on the album 'Actually'. I believe it to be a song about realisation but with the hint of hope, the first verse starts with the girl dreaming of high fashion and success, being young and optimistic about the future, then the second verse is about the nasty people you meet in life, a boss in a shitty job perhaps. It's all about crushed dreams and broken promises but the hope is that at the end of the day they still have each other and seem to just laugh it all off with the help of alcohol! At the end of the day we're all just going round and round in circles !
