I think Björk doesn't believe in God, I heard her singing Deus (live, 1988. USA, Alabama, Auburn) on Youtube with the lyrics changed to "God does not exist". (Deus means God in latin anyway, but it is more explicit this way)
Yes, it does continue with "but if he does..." but I don't think somebody who belives in God would sing "God does not exist".
