"Home is where I want to be But I guess I'm already there" --from This Must Be the Place

This song is like a the [modern-day] answer to David Byrne's [only] love song. The the speaker and the subject are in love, but the subject is unsatisfied. I think the song is meant to depict the complicated mix of emotions involved in love, whereas Byrne's vision of being there (home) was rather myopic. You can be there and still be apprehensive. One may call it "settling," but I think it's more about readjusting our unrealistic, overly simplified expectations about the complexity of love (and life--I do feel this theme is also intended to apply more generally to the confusion and complexity of being human and trying to relate to others but still feeling alone).

The last line ("until the night") is especially indicative of the premise that life and love are only simple and easy in one's dreams.
