I feel like this song kinda sums up the lonely life of a shy man living alone. The narrator seems to switch between internal monologue and actions in the stanzas. The first stanza he talks about somebody calling on Tuesday but he is stuck on sunday. That to me sounds like a friend or lover calling to check in or just talk but the narrator is still stuck on decisions in his past. The second stanza talks about the narrator walking through life as though he is just killing time waiting for something or someone (the line about your hair)...

Third stanza is him explicitly saying that he wants someone with a bit of trademark Beck jargon shoehorned in. I just recently dug this LP up from my crate. A couple of good listening songs on it!
