I think what most people miss in Bad Religions music is Greg's unslanted views towards politics although being anti-establishment is usually a left wing ideal; he's clearly saying in this song that most idealist action (by the left or right wing) is usually pointless. we foster our ideals with a "half a revolution" and then fail to accomplish a goal due to the bureaucracy of organizations and the government. In a nut shell action has become a waste of time.
