Ohhhh.... So close. Everybody did great but you all forgot that Eddie's a closet goth kid.
Much like Red Mosquito, this song is about vampires. I'm not sure if he's conjuring the image of an emotional vampire or a literal vampire, though.
Consider me an object
Put me in a vacuum
Free of all conditions
Free of air and friction
The undead really aren't people so much (devoid of soul and life) as they are things, so he can be considered an object. Stuck in a vacuum, as nothing can touch him to end his eternal torment. This train of thought follows into the final two lines.
Yea, I'll be hanging upside down.
And there I will swing
For all eternity
...Obviously the bat image of vampires.
Fell it rising, yea next stop falling
Feel it rising, comatose, with no fear of falling
On this one, I'm torn between the images of the vampire's hunger and his rage towards the humanity that he can no longer be a part of. Another, more literal interpretation that I considered is that it may be a reference towards the sun that could be the bittersweet end to his wretched existence but he somehow still instinctively avoids.
Leave me in my vacuum
Blood on all the pistons
Running my transmission
He really just wants to be left alone to feed his hunger and keep his motor running with the blood of the (in his eyes) wretched humans. It's what keeps him moving.
High above I'll break the law,
If it's illegal to be in love,
Leave the hatred, on the cross
As he swoops in upon his victims from the sky, he has no concern for mankind's laws. All of his concern and passion is directed towards the lust for the feeding. Forget about the horrible goriness of it all, revel in the beauty and leave the hatred behind. ...And well, crosses... Crosses BAD!!!
Something never thought you'd be part of...
The final message for his victims before their own turning.
Bwhaaahahahahaaa!!!!! Not really. I think that Eddie just wanted to throw a fast, fun little punk rock song in with some obscure lyrics to make people ponder and over-analyze them. ...More like Bugs or Stupid Mop.
...Although, I did think the gay marriage thing was a good catch but I agree that it's probably a little too literal for this song. ... But I also agree that "With Vedder, you never know..." :-D
