Alright, I've seen something online where this "Jasey Rae" girl comes out with the story behind what happened. Now, I'm not sure whether it's correct or not, but based off of the vague details Alex has given, it seems to match up with her story, only hers is more detailed.
So in Pennsylvania, they had a show, and afterwards, Alex met a girl named Jasey Rae, whom he quickly befriended. Afterwards, one night, they basically got drunk, had sex, and then he stopped communicating with her and ignored her attempts to contact him. Then one day, his conscience got the best of him and he wrote this song as an apology to her. But now she hates his guts with a fiery, burning passion.
I personally love the electric version, rather than the acoustic, because based off of this story, when you analyze the electric, it seems like it's harsher and Alex seems to be hard on himself, but he said so himself that he wrote this song because his conscience got the best of him. So it makes me wonder if he actually told her to "forget about him" for his sake and put his conscience to rest, or her sake.
