I disagree with deprebean. When I hear it, I can't stop thinking it's some kind of social commentary, something about the disproportion between the problem and the reaction to it. Who would shoot someone just because he's a little bit bothersome? That's something really cruel and disproportionate. Also, as the song starts with the commentary about the bums, it seems to me as if it was comparing the small insensitive actions (as ignoring someone) with worse things as some kinds of murder practiced by gangs. The results may vary, but the reasoning behind it (he/she bothers me) is the same.

Honestly, there are probably more people than you think who would do it if they could get away with it.
