Personally, i think this one can be interpreted many different ways(depends on what sin you have in mind..) but it comes down to just how hard it is to live a good life.
It's just talking in general: it's just not easy to follow your convictions, especially when no matter how many times you attempt to atone for you're sins you just do the same thing again.
This could be applied to so many things.
