Have you ever tried to reason with or have a serious conversation with someone whos constantly drunk or stoned? What if its someone who means alot to you, but where you have placed them in high importance they place a drug. I think its about trying to reach out to a lover who drowns everything with drugs and doesnt take a single thing seriously. Its not so much a whiny song as it is sort of a bittersweet observance of the loss of communication and how a person who cares so little for you leaves such a lasting impression.
