This song is so pleasing to my ears. The bass notes and the electric guitar really help out with the confusion theme of the song.
I'm not a religious person at all, so when i first bunch of times i listened to the lyrics, i thought it was about integrating oneself into a new setting and figuring out how to fit in and still be an individual. so i interpreted the chorus as a self-confrontation since sleep is something one deals with on their own. i love the symbolism of sleep: ignorance, denial, self induced escape from reality. i can definitely relate.
...but of course i forgot about the whole mormon thing and now everything really makes sense and the person cove is talking to is more obvious.
