I think its about someone with unrealistic expectations of someone else (Wait for me because I waited for you No that's not what you should do Don't hate me 'cause I don't know you) like the other person is not as deeply serious about the relationship as the other person, to the point where its quite irritating. Sorry this makes more sense in my head lol.
And maybe the narrator finally realized this other person has "insane eyes" and is a bit of a stalker.
eg "Maybe then you'll not hang beside me"
