It's definitely about stopping and having introspective moments, thinking about yourself.
The lines "Without you i'm a child/ liner stranded in an ice floe" completely make this song, because with them, you realize that when he "stops for a minute", what he thinks about )and it's kind of a frightening thought, sometimes, to need someone that much) is that he absolutely needs this other person, to help him find direction.
At least, that's how I see it, and that's how I want to see it.
He needs this person (K'Naan's part makes it pretty clear this is a lover he's talking about, in my opinion, they give him direction and help him out with everything, he feels lost without them. I think it's a sweet thought.
