This is a sad dark song... the singer in desperate trying to convince the other party- a lover, a friend, a family member... somebody she cares about,or even a plain stranger she came across in a bar or park etc. and happened to have a conversation about thier frustrations, fears, and doubts.. - to confide in her and trust her intentions to help.
But I really have a very foggy interpretation for these two lines:
