Also in the class was a girl name Maggie Mahoney who ended up being dance partner to this guy. Aaron said that this girl got really really attached to this guy. The friend then told the girl that he didn't want any deeper relationship beyond their dancing partnership. Apparently the girl then became rather mean to the guy, causing Aaron to write the song.
