I could be completely wrong about this, but I think the "drunken marionette" is some woman's boyfriend or husband, and she treats him like crap. She uses him like a puppet/marionette and he allows himself to be used.

I think I read somewhere that Jakob Dylan said the fact that the marionette is drunken is supposed to be ironic since marionettes are generally related in our minds to young children. But does it have any other meaning? Maybe it also means that this guy is her puppet who isn't aware of what's happening - he can't see that she's treating him so badly.
