i think this song is about making things more complicated than they need to be - this then causes problems and anger - "feeling rage is feeling real", so she's trying to convince herself that shes right in the decisions shes made and that trouble she's caused, even if she doesn't feel its completely her fault. Shes still mad, so she gets in the car to cool off. (Call me crazy, but I get the feeling she takes her dog, "I see my damn reflection in your eyeball" & "I've got a brand new rubber band for you boy". To me, it seems like shes going back and forth from talking about the other person in the relationship that is causing her so much pain as well as addressing her dog) By the end of the song, she hasn't cooled off much, but she's realized that "feeling rage isn't feeling real" and she either needs to fix the relationship or get out. Just some thoughts :)
