This is such a beautiful song! I think it's about him realizing that it's okay to be afraid even though people tell him not to be. Even though people tell him not to be afraid to be alone, and that it's part of life. The part where he says, "There's a place in my head it must be called the super motel I can stay the whole night and think about the girl in her shell" is about how all of his thoughts go around in his head at night like a motel and he's thinking about a girl that is shy? and won't talk to him maybe?
Anyway, i think this is a beautiful song and it reminded me that everyone feels insecure and has these worries. it's part of what makes us human. It's alright.
