I didn't read Steven's explaination but there must be more going on here. Certainly he doesn't believe that HE is the only one who can save "you." While I'm sure Steven has similar feelings, I listen to this song as given from the perspective of Jesus. I think people have an aversion to the gospel because they, at heart, think Christ needs them when in reality it is they who need from Him.

Yea I do find it weird that he says 'he is the only one that can save you'. I think if you go with that explanation it would have to be from his perspective in the verses and then from Gods in the chorus because God knows us inside out so
