To be honest, I'd rather a relationship end like this. There's just been a slow drift between them and now there's just no passion or spark left. They're together still because it feels like a "contract" of sorts. I think in relationships the longer you're together, the harder it is to break up because throwing all that time away, or at least that's the mentality of it. I really love when he says
"And in between courses they're gasping for air, so they yawn and look at their feet."
It just sounds miserable, having to gasp for air because either the tension or awkwardness is so thick.
