The video for this song is really great, it shows many hot topic issues of today. Everything from war to torture to Muslim/Jewish tensions. This song has very clear, very powerful meaning to me.
The opening line mentions the crisis in the Middle East with "Jerusalem" and then goes on to ask where the "finish line" is. The finish line is symbolic of the end of life or of war. Pick your preferance.
"I say, it's almost over now/ The end is gettin' closer now/ Better do what you're suppose to" is a great exmple of Wayne saying the end is near after asking when it would all end.
But my favorite line is, "Feel like I'm runnin' 'round but I'm runnin' in place/ We all in the race, I'm just another sprinter/ If there's no finish line then who's the real winner?"
This says that we are all just small pawns in a huge game that we simply have no control over. It also explains that if there is no finish line, how can the race have a winner? If you look at the "finish line" through the eyes of death, it means there's no way to avoid or postpone the inevitable. If you view "the finish line" as a matter of war, it means that no good can possibly come of the blood shed.
I hope this was somewhat helpful for anyone, and it's only what the song means to me personally.
i have a completely different view/perception of this video. if you read the lyrics without the correlation of the video, which i think is the best way to gleam insight from a musical performance i think it reeks of a post-modernistic view on religion and epitomizes the man as god theme that is so prevalent in society today. i must say that i rarely, if ever, listen to secular music--i used to be a huge hip-hop fan, z-ro, trae, ugk, tupac, wayne, and playa fly to name a few. as a Christian i believe this music is...

GOD bless.
