It's beautiful and I think it has a beautiful meaning as well.
I think it's more of s story about how far life can take you through ups and downs.
We often lose track of the days and walk around like fools, "I'm a walking travesty, but i'm smiling at everything."
Travesty means a fool.
I think what Alex as trying to say is that we often find ourself in a bad spot in life, but we can always fake a smile to seem happy, even though nothing is right.
