Yep im with the idea that this has nothing to do with a girl, but faith again. This is in response to Rapture(which is the city in Bioshock :D!)
After he realizes how little believing has gotten him, he just numbs himself with drink after drink, then of course escalates to drugs(like laureline said, its a slang term for crack! which is, in fact, wack..)
All the stuff like the black roses, and our love is through, is just an allusion-using the love and relationship with a girl to symbolize his former faith. which is very cool! check it:
all the time wasted on a girl: the time wasted sittin in church
all the hardships they went through: all the thing done for the religion
the commitment with the girl: all the commitments to a church(baptism)
the promise that she would always be there: the church promises the same
she is supposed to be able to fix any of his problems, to console him:
that is exactly what religion is for-to console people and offer them something else.
SO- he compares being betrayed by a girl he loveed to being let down by his faith.
Pretty fuckin sick.
