Shadows screams again! IMHO, this song is sort of like an angry shout at the heavens.
"You wanna hear my side?
You need to drown to know."
This is like them saying God wouldn't know what death, sorrow and loss feel like, since he himself isn't human.
On the other hand, this song is also speaking to us, humans, about WHY God came to hate us even though he created us - like it's our own fault we were cast out of paradise.
"You better take your time
(LIE RAPE KILL)
You better take it slow
Cause when you see the one
(LOVE HATE FEAR)
Theres nothing left to show."
"the one" here probably refers to God - and when you meet him, you'll have to face up to all the shit you've done wrong in your life and for the evil of humanity in general.
I agree with your interpretation, and I'm pretty sure that the "You need to drown to know.", par is refering to the great flood, if im not mistaken. And to god we are "shmate" - Rubbish, Garbage, or Rags. Jesus is the one that truly loves us, but god loved us enough to create us and to send his son to earth. So in a certain light they're right, God does or did hate us. This song could be another bible referance, kinda like "The Beast and The Harlot".

Sorry meant Skuvbalon-This word is used primarily for excrement, especially human excrement; secondarily for rubbish, dirt, leavings, etc. (neuter noun, used once in the New Testament [Phil 3:8])

As well as slavery and murder.
What a benevolent and caring God to encourage his followers to rape, pillage and kill anyone who didn't believe in him, sounds more like a jealous asshole to me.
The above is all Old Testament that was chronologically done away with by God. Please don't pull verses out of context of Biblical Truths as a whole. This leads to beliefs like those of Westboro Baptist Church (www.godhatesfags.com/). The Blood of Christ figuratively covers all of us who accept Christ as our Savior so God sees no sin in us. Thus, after Christ's death, all who believe were saved from sin. Hard to swallow, but believers' will study this truth until their dying breath. No one who is in Christ, I believe, will commit heinous sins. They may come to...

It's hard to believe that murderers are in heaven, but sin is never ranked in the Bible. Sin is Sin. The only misconceptions of ranking of sin was brought about by the Catholic Church with no Biblical backing.
PDidz, I don't think God ever did encourage rape, murder, and slavery in the Old Testament. The hahaimakesense's first quote is describing the punishment for rape under Israelite law. The second--the way it looks to me--shows God taking lives that He already owns (he owns every life) through the Israelites (assuming the Israelites were obeying God's will being in the war in the first place). And Israelites were allowed to "keep the women" of cities they conquered by marrying them (Deuteronomy 21:10-14), not raping them.
As for women having no legally defined way to avoid marriage and Israelites being allowed to...

As for women having no legally defined way to avoid marriage and Israelites being allowed to have slaves, I imagine those were never "encouraged", but tolerated like divorce (Matthew 19:8). After all, God doesn't change.

God knew about rape and encouraged it.
