I personally dont think its about dieing, i think he wrote it to be exactly that, a lullaby. the part that speaks alot to me is

We hear this house as it settles in"
Reminds me of falling asleep as a kid with the trees scratching the windows and hearing the creaking of my parents house as i fall asleep. Brings back good memories
