i really think this relates to quitting smoking. actually i think that only because its what makes sense to me. 'i'm in the wind' like smoke. 'i want your comfort for the evening, i need to pause and get my head' is really how i feel when i want a ciggie, its a way of calming down for me and helps me put things into perspective. and then the interlude and the dude saying 'i'm giving you up'
maybe it makes no sense to others but thats how i interpret it
