I think that the song sounds cute at first but gets darker as it progresses and the same tone of her voice serves it's meaning to suit either ambiguously. It seems like the display and lyrics was given to betray an uncertainty of intentions in the song. She seems conflicted between whether it would be worth it to just let go when things are getting too hard and she falls low. The Chorus seems optimistic and seeking help, but the verses slowly become more somber and betray the situation (A metaphor I assume) as less of an accidental and her being swiped down by reality, and more as her sabotaging herself in a conscious effort to ease the strain.
