I didn't even know this was a Kenny Rogers song, as I've always heard it on the live Bob Seger Album "Nine Tonight."
I think the song is about a couple who has decided to go their separate ways (at least she has, as he says, "I know your plans don't include me." However, there are still mutual feelings of affection between them. While they might not have a future together, they can still share what they have between them now, tonight, regardless of what the future has in store. Hence, "We've got tonight, who needs tomorrow?"
