Pretty obvious meaning on this song, at least for those that have experienced or witnessed what the song is about (which I would expect would be everyone but based on the comments that is not so). It is about using apathy as a coping mechanism for personal problems and for the world as a whole. This song helps me personally to overcome apathy but it is still hard... for me, disconnecting myself from everything is something like an addiction, I know that I could do greater things if I let myself but in the short-term it is easier to just be numb to everything. Another song about this type of thing is Disconnected by In Flames. The sad thing is I know people like me that give in to apathy are the ones that care enough about the world to make it a better place, but their reaction to disliking things is to ignore them rather than changing them.
