To sum up this song id like to use the popular term of "live fast, die young!"

This song is about feeling the need to go faster and push harder regardless of the outcomes "out of gas and still burnin'"

This guy builds a rep as “Just a friendly neighborhood speed demon"

He goes on to explain his lifestyle in a friendly tone as if what he is doing is correct and just

"See, when the whole things slows down You're gonna find that clown who's gonna give you a scene With the chance to take it... now! "

I'm unsure about this part because the whole slowing down theme makes me think that the clown (Clean living person) is going to make a big deal about the high speed life and give him an alternative lifestyle to take.

BUT...."with the chance to take it ...now!"

There is also the negative view of this where he is given the option of highway lanes....fast...or slower. And he does not want to take the time to slow down because deep inside he is suppressing the pain he has felt from the duration of going up or down the road of the fast lane. In his head he says that it is too late and nobody can help me and I don’t want to take this help..... so "with the chance to take it...now!" it would seem that he has kept on with his life style and take it can mean many things in regards to drugs or getting his kicks in life by any means necessary.

Finally it could also be as simple as a guy who gets into a car crash. He went to fast and did not appreciate the simple things in life.

Sorry for the scatterbrained format. Let me know what you think of this please.
