I've been a fan of Metric since Old World Underground and have loved everything Emily Haines (the singer) has done on her own. I actually thought and hoped Fantasies was the record to break them into the mainstream because it just a great record with great tunes and was more of an evolution in their sound rather than a deviation made to pander to a mass audience. With that said, this song DOES NOT sound like Metric. I hope they have all the success in the world, and their last record should've been that success since it fits in quite nicely into the current marketplace but I cannot in good conscience endorse this son. It is simply a deviation to appeal to a mass audience instead of just a natural step in the evolutionary process of their sound.
