i think that this part is referring to Josh's past. he used to be addicted to haroin, belemic, and self mutalation i think, but all thats over and done with. he's a new person and now he can be perfect, which was his goal all along. thats why he had his problems, because he felt he wasn't good enought, right? now he's healthy and he has no reason to not be perfect. everyone knows though, that he used to have all those problems, so he has to be even better, to rise above that.
